Ok, so i havent been able to do much art recently, because i'm so busy doing so much art.... if you catch my drift. I did find time to do a new ID though. i think 2 months is about a month overdue to get a new one after the breakup. Gawsh... I havent not been busy since before winter break. and thats sad. right now I am designing:

The girls track team sweater/sweatpants (0%)
The football team helmets (70%)
Stadium High School Mural (10%) Design (50%)
Basketball Court (0%)


Not to mention various other random projects. Renderings and pictures will be available as projects are finished.

Well now that I have that out of the way, time for the meat of my update. Last time I updated, I was preparing for portfolio day, down at Cornish College of the Arts. We went to it, and it was totally rad. There were hundereds of artists EVERYwhere! the place was packed ! After we signed up for everything, we had a tour around the campus, which was cool. I didn't get too much of a feel for it, because it wasn't in all its busy glory or anything. But anywho, after the tour, we waited a while, and then at whatever time we were let go we all... and i mean everybody, raced up to the first school. It was funny, everybody dragging their portfolios around and such. I raced straight up to Cornish's booth, and it turns out that i was 2nd line --SCORE-- but yeah, the review went well, and it turned out that much to my suprise (note the sarcasm) i didnt have a very large observational drawing category. oh well. I ended up having like 4 or 5 reviews. I saw Cornish, Art Center, SFAI (whom i already knew my reviewer, so we had a little chat) and I was waiting in line for California College of the Arts, but the line was taking forever and a day. Talked to this really cool girl named Elizabeth, who was a photographer, but i soon took a trip to a random college that didnt have a line. I ended up at Alberta college of the arts, in canada.. way too far away which is a shame, because i really would have liked the school. anywho. after that the reviews were over, and we all left. by the time i was out of there, i could hardly walk i was so hungry. me and Ken went to Subway, and i ate my whole footlong sandwich before he could finish the smaller half of his. haah. i think he started first too. (i could go for some subway right now.) anywho. got home and dreamt about art...yada yada yada. a few days later, Cornish called and said that I passed the portfolio review and that i should apply there. --DOUBLE SCORE--
--Fast Forward-- (now would be a good time for a bathroom break 8|)

In the drawing club we decided to do a mural for my Highschool, Stadium. I threw out a design, and everybody liked it, so we got 2 --1/4 inch thick 4'x8' plywould boards and scaled the drawing to size on it. that worked out pretty well. afterwards we masked off the lines and I started doing the fills(I was the only one who showed up for the drawing club meeting that day). I'm not even done with the design yet. I'm doing it all nice in illustrator so we can enlarge it and make screenprints. its gonna be grand.

Secondly, My football coach has been asking my to design a decal to put on the football helmets for next year. I decided to be crazy with it, so what im doing is making a full helmet design with a tiger face right above the facemask. its freaking trippy. I spent 3 of my 4 hours in mr woos class just working on arranging this and that, and printing and cutting out little tests to put on the helmet. Editing, and testing again. I'm excited. I'll submit a picture of the little helmet with the design on it perhaps when i get the chance.

How the basketball courts job happened was really cool. i was in between classes in Picha's (football coach) office showing him the design, and then walks in Catalinich (athletic director) to talk to Picha about something. Picha Shows him my design, and he's like wow. As i'm walking out of the office, he calls to me, "Hey I want you to do something for me...." and then it tured out that he wants me to do the design thats going to be in the middle of the basketball court when Stadium is done being renovated. I'm SUPER stoked about this one, because theres gonna be HUNDREDS of people that see my design EVERY DAY and sometimes even THOUSANDS for like assemblies and stuff!

The Girls Track Suit isn't quite as cool, but still pretty awesome. My sister asked me to do them because they needed a design. but yeah. they still get shown off. because the all wear their sweats and stuff.

Sorry that i havent posted much stuff recently. as you can see ive been busy. I have a bunch of stuff to show, its just a matter of finishing a few thigns, consolidating everything, and then posting it. If you've read this all the way to here, you rock. so i will let you in on a little secret. That mural is like the coolest thing ive ever done! It says STADIUM in bubble letters, and then on the inside, there is Inksplats on the left, and vines on the right, and they mesh together. totally awesome. for all of you that read this, again, thank you. you guys rock!
